Raising puppies to be healthy, and well adjusted is top priority. We start with health testing parents (Hips, Elbows, Eyes, Hearing, DNA for genetic diseases). Our dogs are fed only premium food with proper nutrition, kept in excellent weight and muscle tone and given supplements as seen fit to optimize their health for either pregnancy support, performance, digestion/absorption of nutrients, and joint support. We give lots of enrichment, car rides, and exposure to new people, sites and smells.
Puppies are raised using Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), Early Scent Introduction (ESI) and Puppy Culture protocols. This gives the puppies the best start for cariovascular health, the ability to handle stress, to have a quick recovery when frightened, optimize their ability to use their sense of smell, be well started on manners, crate training, house training, and ability to deal with new textures, smells, sights and sounds in a healthy way. My puppies go home with soft mouths, well mannered, and potty train extremely quickly.
We DNA test puppies to find out who may be a carrier of any hereditary disease. Why do this? Carriers are not effected by the disease (except MDR1 drug sensitivity and we will NOT breed with a carrier of this) but if you are looking for a potential breeding dog, you want to know what these results are.
BAER hearing tests are performed at the UC FETCH Lab to ensure all dogs have proper hearing.
Vaccinations are performed by a licensed vetrinarian who also does a full health check and we perform MULTIPLE stool checks on puppies to ensure they are free of parasites. Deworming is performed according to tests to prevent unnecesary toxins being put into the young puppies bodies.
Ultrasound of pregnant mothers is performed to see development and get an approximate count on puppies. We do not x-ray mothers during pregnancy unless there is a concern over size of the litter causing whelping issues. We do not feel radiation being introduced to rapidly growing cells is needed in most circumstances and will x-ray after whelp if any concerns for retained puppies.
Puppies are permanently identified and registered for life with AKC Reunite microchips.
AKC registration is included with your puppy. No additional fees.
Pups go home with a weeks worth of food, a toy with their siblings scent, a leash and collar and treats along with a copy of their records.
We guarantee the immediate health of your puppy. If they are found to have left with any illness we will take they puppy back to treat them or pay for the vetrinary cost. We have never had to do this though. We also guarantee they are free of any hereditary diseases (why we health test parents) and joint disorders. Be mindful we can not guarantee against environmentaly caused health issues from over vaccination of your dog, being over or underweight, early spay/nueter or being worked on full size agility equipment prior to closure of the growth plates.
