Welcome to Mondenkind Kennels, where every day is filled with love, care, and excitement for our furry friends. Let’s take a closer look at what a typical day looks like at Mondenkind Kennels. Our dogs are our family and live in the house. I get up extra early every day to feed, potty, and spend some time with each one. We have multiple exercise areas to allow them to stretch their legs and play together, but keep separation at those special times when we are preventing unplanned litters. Throughout the day, while my husband works from home, the dogs are rotated and taken in and out as needed. A few pets may be snuck in there as well. In the afternoon I come home and make sure everyone is taken care of, clean up puppy pens, and get everyone some exercise. When it rains, we use the treadmill and ensure the adults are getting their needed physical exercise. All the dogs get at least 10 minutes each day with individual training to exercise their minds.
Somehow in all this business, I manage to find time as a 4-H advisor, a board member of the Border Collie Society of America, a board member of the Warren County Kennel Club, and teach classes as well as taking classes with my dogs at Queen City Dog Training Club. Volunteer work and spending time with the dogs and family make my world go round.
The puppies are raised inside our home, close to the kitchen where we enjoy our evening meals as a family and entertain as we have our friends over to play games and enjoy good food. Socializing puppies with all sorts of people is easy to do in our household as we constantly have friends and family over.
In conclusion, a day in the life at Mondenkind Kennels is filled with love, care, and dedication to our pets. From providing a safe and comfortable environment for our furry guests to breeding and raising high-quality Border Collies, we strive to exceed expectations in every aspect of our hobby. We invite you to explore our website, visit our kennel, and experience the Mondenkind difference for yourself.
